Faith can move mountains!
While
playing the 114th edition of the French Open, Rafael Nadal probably
didn’t expect that he won’t conquer the 10th title successively. There
was a rally of criticism built on him over and over again. His injuries and
loss of form feared his early knock-out on his favourite court of clay. In the
midst of all the infamous speculations Rafael lost to world no. 1 Novak
Djokovic in a tough battle. He exited from Rolland Garros, but his words at the
post-match presentation gave a new hope to all his fans
and showed his invincible attitude towards his Tennis!
Rafael
Nadal didn’t lose the hope. He participated in the Stuggart Open and to
everyone’s surprise he won the finals. This was his second grass court title
after July 2010. All the ‘Rafa’ (as he
is fondly called) fans bowed to his win and all the criticism were shut right
there. This is just a baby step for Rafael Nadal as he trains and prepares for
the upcoming Wimbledon Grand Slam on 29th June 2015 onwards.
The battle
is not going to be as easy as it looks even for the top 10 seeded dudes. Roger
Federer and Andy Murray are the all-time favourites on Grass court. Roger being
one of the successful winner of Wimbledon and Andy will receive the home
crowd’s support will have a tough phase to surpass. The recent winner of French
Open-Stanislas Wawrinka has his hopes on high note as he wouldn’t love to stop
his winning race. He would be playing with more determination as his coach
Magnus Norman trains him harder for the play on court.
Rafael
Nadal had defeated the ace Roger Federer in 2008, Wimbledon final to win his
first Wimbledon Grand slam. The final match they played was the longest one in
the history of Wimbledon. That same year Nadal had won his first Olympic Gold
medal by defeating Fernando Gonzalez of Chile in the Beijing Olympic finals
2008.
This
victory of Nadal has come as a power booster for himself. He had won the Stuggart
Open on clay court in the year 2005 and 2007. He also became the first one to
win it on both the surfaces (Clay and Grass) as he registered his win by 7-6,
6-3. Nadal defeated Serbia’s Viktor
Troicki in the finals of the cup. The King of Clay didn’t give up his faith on
Tennis that is why he has moved a mountain by winning the Stuggart Open. This King
has taught the rest of the Tennis world that nothing is permanent.
