When India’s Captain, Mahendra Singh Dhoni announced his retirement from Test Cricket captaincy, there was a pool of questions reflecting a series of skepticism. Why did Dhoni quit? This was the question every TV news channel was asking to the cricket experts. Although this skepticism proved useless in time, as Dhoni had clearly mentioned in a statement released by BCCI saying that,” He ( MSD) was finding it increasingly difficult to continue in all formats of the game and that he wanted to focus on limited-overs cricket, with the World Cup coming up in mid-February”. India’s talented and superstar opener Virender Sehwag announced his retirement from cricket. The aggressive cricketer will not feature in the upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will quit playing domestic cricket at the end of the season. Here are some of the statistics related to Virender Sehwag’s career: Sehwag made his debut for the Indian cricket team: 1999 Tests: 104 ODIs : 251 T20Is :19 Apart from this, Sehwag was part of the Indian team which reached the 2003 World Cup final, won the ICC World T20 in 2007 and won the World Cup in 2011. In his illustrious career he holds record to several superb innings which needs to be mentioned.
