Multan ka Sultan retires from the International cricket
India’s talented and superstar opener Virender Sehwag announced
his retirement from cricket. The aggressive cricketer will not feature in the
upcoming edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and will quit playing
domestic cricket at the end of the season.

It was the year 2004 when India went on a tour to
Pakistan in 15 years. Viru (as he is fondly called) became the first ever
Indian to score a triple-hundred, on the second day of the first Test at
Multan. Pakistani, despite having the likes of Shoaib Akthar, Mohammad Sami and
Saqlain Mushtaq, couldn't control Sehwag from scoring 309 runs.

Virender Sehwag recorded the highest ever
individual score in ODI cricket, by smashing a 149-ball 219 against West
Indies. This was the year of 2011. He surpassed Sachin Tendulkar, who scored an
unbeaten 200 against South Africa at Gwalior. It was only the second time that
a player had scored a double-century in ODIs.

In Test cricket versus Sri Lanka ta the Mumbai's
Brabourne Stadium in the year 2009, Virender Sehwag made293 runs and made the
opponents score look little in front of his whooping runs! Although he couldn’t
complete his triple century.
It was in Chennai, in the year 2008 when Virender Sehwag blasted the South
African bowlers to register his highest ever score in cricket in the first Test
match. He hit 42 fours and five sixes to register a 278-ball triple-hundred
(319). It was the fastest ever in the history of Test cricket.

In the year of 2014, Virender Sehwag proved his
ability in Indian Premier League too! Before IPL-7 began, Sehwag wasn't doing
all that well even in the domestic circuit. However, after Kings XI Punjab
roped him in, he repaid their trust by scoring a magnificent 122 off just 68
balls to put the total out of Chennai Super Kings reach in the Qualifier 2
match. In the end, the knock of 122 runs proved vital as CSK came close to
KXIP's total.
